Question: If the God of the Bible is all-knowing, why would He create Lucifer knowing he would one day rebel?
This is the early question to myself, many years ago!
In my Bible readings/studies; I have noticed that Almighty God has been very flexible with many of the main characters mentioned in the Bible.
When studying Lucifer (morning star); renamed Satan (adversary); and knowing from the text that this had been God’s most magnificent personage, who had become arrogant re. his position relative to all creation and also God Himself; even wanting to supplant God; this had to be a clue as to why God had allowed what He knew would be the resultant in this being “Lucifer”!
So; the way this line of thinking progresses, points to an inevitability regarding the result of an all-powerful personage with FREE-WILL, as to an inevitable result; which in this case would be a challenge to God Himself.
This line of thinking is so simplistic, that I am of the opinion that God would give most people the mind and freedom to allow it to give a small relief to the limitations of our human minds!
However; taking the subject further, it fits quite neatly into the resultant thinking of the Mystery of Christ Jesus’ Sacrificial death at Calvary; as the basis of the resultant thinking of the FREE-WILL of all humans (and possible super-humans [angels etc.]); as the almost savage event of Jesus’ death (at the behest of Satanically controlled humans (Sanhedrin and Romans), who were undoubtedly controlled for the purpose of negating the “offer” of Almighty God, in Christ Jesus; which does defy the logic of humans who are the result of Eden, and Satan’s Fall!
However; despite the efforts of Satan and his hordes; the promise of Gen. 3:15 from God to human kind cannot be broken (as all God’s promises are unbreakable); which has resulted in the Birth; Death; Resurrection and Ascension, of Christ Jesus; and now Christ-Ones (Christians) are awaiting His return to Earth, which will also auger the “saving of Israel”, as detailed in Ezek. 39:21–29!
That event will also bring in the “Millennial Reign” of Jesus on Earth, located in Jerusalem; and will also be the beginning of 1000 years of imprisonment of Satan (Rev. 20) prior to his total destruction (Rev. 20:7–10)!
During that 1000 years, Satan’s effect cannot influence events on Earth as it does now; and at the end of the 1000 years and Satan’s release, the world population will be reminded of Satan’s evil influence as he manipulates the world population again!!
This is probably the major clue to the "MYSTERY"; which again shows that even after the massive reminder of Satan's evil; and God's Love, only some of humans and other creation with FREE-WILL, choose God's Love, which is a supreme MYSTERY!
However; this is the point of his destruction and the “New Heaven and Earth”; Rev. 20 and 21!
So; in conclusion, the “Mystery of Iniquity” can be summed up on a superficial basis, as a mixture of God’s Goodwill, Satan’s evil will, (with freedoms arranged by Almighty God) (see Job); humans with FREE-WILL; which is probably/possibly the main/probably motivation of our Almighty God and His Christ Jesus; as God has stated that “it is not His Will that any should perish, but that they should have Eternal Life with Him”!
